Thursday, June 25, 2020 is the 2nd Annual Bourdain Day, celebrating the incredible life and work of Anthony Bourdain. To honor his legacy, The Food Film Festival is raising funds for The Bronx Letters Foundation, the non-profit organization that Bourdain ardently supported.
LIVESTREAM
The Food Film Festival will produce a 1-hour Instagram LIVE event from 5pm to 6pm on 6/25/20, featuring world-renown hamburger expert George Motz (also founder of the festival), and Master Distiller Allen Katz, co-owner of the New York Distilling Company. The program will be hosted by Food Film Festival Executive Producer Seth Unger. The Instagram LIVE event will be hosted on Motz’s account ( @motzburger ). BURGERS + A BARREL
During the live event, Motz will make a set of eclectic regional hamburgers and Katz will make specialty cocktails with a brand new NYDC Rye Whiskey releasing that same day...a limited edition George Motz Single Barrel Ragtime Rye whiskey selected by Motz (who also autographed every bottle). A portion of proceeds from each bottle will go to Bronx Letters Foundation.
DONATIONS
Throughout the event, viewers will be encouraged to make donations to the Bronx Letters Foundation. The viewers who make the highest donations will have the opportunity to choose the style of the next burger or cocktail that gets made LIVE on Instagram. Our good friends at In The Raw have already pledged $5000 to kick things off!

A few bottles from the barrel were made available for a short pre-order on June 21. Anyone in New York State who placed a shipping order by Sunday night, June 22, will receive their delivery prior to the June 25th event and will be able to join George and Allen to open and taste the very 1st bottles in real time! Note: orders for pick-up at NYDC may be placed at any time.

Bronx Letters Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that supports the Bronx Academy of Letters, a grade 6-12 New York City Public School located in the South Bronx, the poorest congressional district in the United States. The Academy provides both in-school enrichment and extracurricular opportunities through both fundraising and professional partnerships for Bronx Letters’ 600 at-risk students.
